Karen Tar and Leslie Tar are the founders of The Allergy & Arthritis Treatment Centers, LLC. Other medical and clerical staff tends to change over time. We recognize their contribution and that they are essential to the operation of this medical practice.  As the individuals involved change over time, they are not herein identified.

 

Dr. Leslie Tar, MD, MPH

Dr. Leslie Tar, attended medical school at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. His residency in Internal Medicine was completed at the University of Rochester General Hospital. Thereafter, he completed fellowships in Allergy/Immunology at the Hospital of The University of Pennsylvania, and Rheumatology at Temple University Hospital. He trained at the University of Pittsburgh School of Health in OccupationalMedicine. He has obtained  board-certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, Legal Medicine, Occupational Medicine, Allergy/Immunology, and Rheumatology. He is an active member of the following associations;  American College of Rheumatology, Florida Society of Rheumatology, and the Florida Bar Association. 

 

Karen M. Tar, CRNP,ARNP, BC, MSN

 

Karen Tar CRNP, APRN, BC, MSN is a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner. She trained at the University of Pennsylvania, where she received her Masters of Science in Nursing as a Gerontologic Nurse Practitioner. During her training, she became a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the National Honor Society of Nursing. Karen has obtained board certification in Gerontology from the American Nurse's Association.

Every State Board of Nursing grants advanced nurses credentials through their certification process. These credentials may go by various titles in different states. The State of Pennsylvania grants Nurse Practitioners licensure as Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Karen has been licensed as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) and has been actively practicing as a nurse practitioner in Pennsylvania since 1987. Karen's clinical focus is in the care of the geriatric individual, with specific emphasis on allergic and rheumatic disorders.
